Defne Kahveci

Defne Kahveci graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Law in 2017. In the same year, she commenced her LL.M. studies in American Law at Boston University, concentrating primarily on corporate law and contract law. Upon completing her LL.M. in 2018, she completed her mandatory legal traineeship in Istanbul. Between 2018 and 2021, she practiced law at several law firms, focusing on corporate and contract law. She is a member of the New York Bar. Since 2021, she has been employed as a research assistant in the Department of Commercial Law at Doğuş University Faculty of Law. She completed her master’s degree with a thesis at Yeditepe University in 2023; her thesis, entitled “Crowdfunding Platforms in Capital Markets Law,” examined regulatory and structural aspects of crowdfunding mechanisms under capital markets legislation. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Private Law at Istanbul Bilgi University. Her research interests include corporate law, capital markets law, and e-commerce law.
