Marie-José Garot



Marie-José Garot, appointed Vice Dean of Master Programs at IE Law School since September 2020, directs the school’s Master of Law’s (LL.M), a new 10-month program with three specializations in International Business Law, IP& Tech Law, and International Dispute Resolution, as well as other Master programs oriented to the business and legal world and offered both in Spanish and in English.

Marie-José Garot holds a Bachelor of Law’s from the University of Rennes (France) in addition to a Master in Political Sciences from Paris II Assas-University (France). She took her Ph.D. at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Upon completion, she moved to Barcelona and then to Madrid where she joined IE Law School.

Professor Garot is an expert in European Law and an Associate Professor of European Union Law. She carried out research projects and published books and articles on European integration. In addition, she is Director of the Center of European Studies at IE University, whose focus and goal is to promote the European idealism inside and outside of IE.
