Susan Simone Kang



Susan Simone Kang is the Founder of Vista Law Coaching, an educator practicing privately with law students in their applications, courses, and bar exams. Attorney Simone Kang is a graduate of Cornell Law School, JD ’99 with a specialization in International Legal Affairs, where she was the Lead Symposium Editor for the International Law Journal, and she has an LL.M. in International Law ‘09 from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

Attorney Simone Kang is the former Director of Graduate Legal Education and International Programs at Boston College Law School and Program Director for the LL.M. at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, with over 12 years in the academy. At Boston College Law School, Professor Simone Kang taught the courses of Legal Writing and Introduction to the US Legal System, managed the International Visiting Scholars Program, the LL.M. Master of Laws Program, and international law student exchange relationships, including JD exchange abroad. Professor Simone Kang also co-directed and taught in the BC Law Insights: Foundations of U.S. Law and Practice program. Professor Simone Kang has also taught US tort law at Deusto Law School, Bilbao Spain, and guest lectured at Bocconi University in Milan in international treaty law; in US constitutional law, at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, and the Universidad Católica de Argentina in Buenos Aires, at the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil and the Escola Paulista de Magistratura of São Paulo, Brazil, on rule of law and access to justice, and the Universidad de San Pablo en Arequipa, Peru, on the US common law system, all in the language of instruction at the host institution, or in English, upon request. Professor Simone Kang has also engaged in capacity building in Uzbekistan, participating in numerous online and in-person programs at the Tashkent State University of Law in collaboration with the Slovenian-based NGO, Regional Dialogue. She has recently presented a lecture on judicial precedent in 2022 through CEAD in Mexico City.

Before entering the academy, Attorney Simone Kang was in private practice in Boston-based international and regional law firms for over twelve years, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, international corporate finance, multijurisdictional bankruptcies, and immigration law. Attorney Simone Kang is also a certified mediator and has volunteered in Boston area district courts. In 2019, Professor Simone Kang supervised a brief in Spanish before the InterAmerican Court of Human Rights establishing protection from revictimization in the investigative process for survivors of sexually-based violence among vulnerable populations.

Attorney Simone Kang is a member of the New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut bars and speaks Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and English. She is a member of AILA.

During the pandemic, Professor Simone Kang taught free online webinars in English/Portuguese and English /Spanish in two Series: with Professor Pedro Lenza of Brazil, on Constitutional Law, which attracted over 6,000 participants over 15 sessions, and with Professor Daniela Urosa, of Venezuela, to thousands through “Lex Latinx en Verano” over 5 sessions. In addition, she has given lectures and presentations at the Catholic University of Pernambuco, the Labor Court of Recife, Pernambuco in the areas of US constitutional law, access to justice, and US immigration Law (DACA), and co-directed the Insights: Intro to ADR Program and Access to Justice with the Centro de Arbitraje y Mediación de Santiago, Chile and the University of Muenster, Germany.
